In 2006, Mt. Prospect Baptist Church started a clothing ministry, but later saw the need to provide canned goods. As the demand increased, more nutritious foods were purchased from local retail stores. Covenant Presbyterian Church supplied additional food with donations from a local Food Lion.
In 2014, a partnership agreement was made with Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina that provided fresh produce, meat, cereal and canned foods for Mt. Prospect's pantry ministry.
In 2017, to broaden the reach of The Manna House, the ministry became a separate arm of the church. It was incorporated as The Manna House pantry, a 501C3 non-profit organization.
In 2019 partnered with Pathways Community Center to better serve our clients and community, with more than double our original space.
The Manna House Pantry works hard every week to provide fresh produce, canned goods, cereals, and meats.
