Access to nutritious food is a basic human right

Food pantry

HISTORY

"We believe access to nutritious food is a basic human right."

In 2006, Mt. Prospect Baptist Church started a clothing ministry, but later saw the need to provide canned goods. As the demand increased, more nutritious foods were purchased from local retail stores. Covenant Presbyterian Church supplied additional food with donations from a local Food Lion.

In 2014, a partnership agreement was made with Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina that provided fresh produce, meat, cereal and canned foods for Mt. Prospect's pantry ministry.

In 2017, to broaden the reach of Manna House the ministry, became a seperate entity from the church. It was incorprated as The Manna House pantry, a 501C3 non-profit organization.

WHAT WE DO

The Manna House Pantry works hard every week to provide fresh produce, canned goods, cereals, and meats.
